I grew up in Georgia going to Philly Connection, and I swear to you they had the most delish cheesesteaks in life! That was until I moved to Charleston and ventured down St james avenue searching for a cheese steak place. Not some generic sub place like Subway or Quiznos that has a inauthentic steak they claim is the best. No, I wanted the real deal. I found this restaurant in a little plaza with a sign that read "cheesesteak"... That's it! I was of course a bit nervous about a place with no brand name, but I went on in. I'm soooo glad I did, because that cheesesteak gave me a bonified mouthgasm. Try the mushroom and spinach cheesesteak with onions OMG! The cheese is buttery, the bread is soft, the meat is fresh! It's damn delicious!

The sandwiches are really good, but... Really feel like it's way over priced. I don't feel right paying almost $30 for 2 sandwich meals. Not to mention you only get 1 refill on tiny drinks!!! They seem like cheapskates to me. The staff always seems to be bothered by every customer that walks in. Don't open a restaurant if you hate people so much! Oh and what kind of steak sandwich place runs out of A1 sauce??

Authentic Cheese steaks like we had in Allentown, PA growing up. Best we've had outside of metro Philly area in the past 30 years. They use authentic rolls shipped from A Philadelphia bakery. Haven't yet tried the Italian hoagie but that'll be next. Only food missing from my childhood memories are pirogies.

Did someone really compare this place to Geno's in Philadelphia?? First off, this place is very expensive for what you get! I ordered two 8" mushroom cheese steaks and with tax it was over $17! No fries, just sandwiches. Most of the rating I gave is for value. Serving size is very small. Taste wise, I'd rate the cheese steak maybe 2 stars. I don't think I'll be back due to overall value.

Good place to go get a good Philly for cheap. You get a good amount of food too. They have several different options for Phillys. Definitely a place to go if you are in a hurry and want something tastey, but don't care about fat, carbs, etc...

I decided to go here for lunch today. I will say this...I come from a customer service background. I was NOT impressed with the customer service! First off when i arrived. The lady at the counter looked like she didnt want to be there when she took my order. She didnt appear friendly at all. Standing behind her was a tall guy leering at me and cook was standing at the counter. Mind you, i was the only patron in at the time. the place was empty. After paying for my food and waiting for a short amount of time to get my food. I left. I didnt want to eat there. Dont get me wrong the place was clean, but i was turned off by the attitude of the workers. Now on to the food. My philly cheese steak was good, but not excellent. I think that Philly's in Ladson is way better. the 'steak fries' were total garbage. i took a bite of one and threw the rest away. As i typed earlier. the sub was good, but not great. I will travelling the extra miles to Phillies in Ladson. I doubt I will come back.

All I can say is this place sucks!!! Phillys on Ladson rd is the place to go for a cheesesteak... I ordered the mushroom Philly and received the smallest pathetic excuse for a cheesesteak. For $8.00!!! WTF... Ordered the grilled cheese for my 2 year old and it is a piece of cheese in a hamburger bun for $3.99..got a large order of steak fries for 2.99 and they sucked.. No salt at all.. My husband got the 16" for $14 extra 1.25 for cheez whiz...What a joke. Spent $35 and I am not pleased...I'll never come here again

Best cheese steaks in town, so impressed by the food. My husband loves the gyros as well. Their customer service is not great, but the food is awesomme.

Great place to eat! Friendly service and delicious food. The Philly Cheesesteak we as good as anything I've had outside of Philly itself. We also had the fried Zucchini and Pickles that were amazing.

I was having a horrible day. The dog was acting crazy, the car wouldn't start, and basically things just weren't going my way. The only thing that went right that whole day was getting lunch from Philly Cheesesteak. I popped in around 11 to grab take out, a mushroom cheesesteak for my guy and a hoagie for me. I've actually never had a cheesesteak before despite having gone to Philadelphia just last year so I can't speak to it's authenticity. But I can say that my hoagie was a really good sandwich! It comes with the basic meat and cheese and lettuce, tomato and mayo. I was a little disappointed with the amount of mushrooms in my boyfriends sandwich so I'd probably stick with my hoagie if we came back again. They have awesome curly fries as well - super crispy and they come in a big boat. I'm very tempted to give them a fifth star since this is the best sandwich place I've been to in the area but I'll wait until we can give them a second visit.

They've gone through a few owners and changes over the years, but one thing that has remained consistent is they do provide the best Philly in the area. My first ever Philly was in Philly, so I'm a bit picky. The menu has been paired down with the most recent owner, which helps with cooking, ordering and timeliness of your order. My only concern with this place is it could use a good updating, but I'll take good food over ambiance any day of the week. I recommend and take all my friends that are in the area to Philly's. Two thumbs up for a great original Philly.

What is there not to like about Philly Cheesesteaks? The price is fantastic and the quality of the sandwich is exquisite. It brings back memories just writing this review. They have delicious bread with a hint of mayo right next to sweet peppers. Yes, I know I am drooling too. Their service is decent not the best. I have also noticed that they get pretty busy at lunch time. So be mindful of that ahead of time. They offer four different combos with their sandwiches (Onion Rings, Curly Fries, Chips and Steak Fries). Their steak fries are good and crisp as well as their curly fries. I cannot attest to their onion rings because I never had them. I refuse to switch from the curly fries. Again, what is there not to like about Philly Cheesesteaks? Their prices are fabulous and their food is equally fabulous. They are just that epic!

Good cheesteaks. Service is inconsistent, though. We have come in a couple of times and have been ignored. The employees were also going through some drama and were cussing each other out. The other few times, service was fine. The sandwiches aren't as full of meat as some other places. Flavor is good, though. It changed owners from a few years ago. It's pretty good considering there's no other cheesesteak place within several miles.

Philly Cheesesteak is an incredibly forgettable restaurant. The cheesesteak itself was decent but you could get one of equal quality at just about any other sandwich joint. I wish I hadn't ordered steak fries. No salt. No seasoning. Boring. The decor was scatterbrained and left me very confused. There were American flags, some random pictures, an assortment of meaningless hats and stuffed animals hanging from the ceiling, and perhaps the most disturbing thing was the Red Sox and Celtics memorabilia on the wall. I'm actually a Red Sox fan but I'm sorry, if you own a local Philly cheesesteak restaurant, no other teams for you exist except for the flyers, the phillies and the eagles. Next time I'm craving a Philly, ill take the extra time togo to philly's off of ladson where unlike here, the cheesesteak is unforgettable and the atmosphere feels like you are in Philadelphia.

Great cheesesteaks. Hit or miss service. I've been there 5 times in the past few months. Was ignored by the two ladies for 2 whole minutes once while I was the only customer in the lobby. One was mopping and the other was just walking back and forth acting like I was a disruption. I left and stayed away until September (3 months) and decided to give them one last shot. Luckily my photographic memory didn't detect any recognizable employees this time so that was a 'go' sign for me. I stayed, ordered from a very friendly Caucasian lady. She saved their face as far as I'm concerned. Slammin' sandwiches. 4 stars. Hit or miss service. 3 stars. Closed on Sunday? Really? It's football season! 2 stars. Average. 3 stars.

After going to this place more and more it has grown on me. I have figured out that you have to go when a certain cook is cooking and the deliciousness of the food will increase ten-fold.

It states they deliver, but only have one phone line set up. So when you call and someone's on the phone and it's busy it doesn't do any good for the customer. I spent forty-five minutes trying to call and place an order that never happened. Multiple lines or at least two would be helpful to run a business, so people could place an order if that is the object of running a restaurant.

The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly. Just wish it was not so expensive. I definitely recommend this place.

I suggest they take a trip to Philly. The one in Long Beach CA is more authentic than this one. This one did not even have the sweet hot peppers. The sandwich was okay, but not worthy of calling it a "Philly" chesse steak,
